The Platzl Hotel is a gabled five-floor hotel located in downtown Munich, just 100 metres from Maximilian Street, known as the shopping mile. There are 166 guestrooms, which have neutral décor with wood panelling or large wooden headboards and checked fabrics. All have bathrooms with bathrobes and slippers, toiletries and hair dryers, direct-dial phones with voicemail, cable television, minibars and dial-up Internet connections. Double guestrooms are available with views over the famous Hofbräuhaus or the hotel's internal courtyard.
The Pfistermühle restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner, and serves fine Bavarian dishes and Ayinger draught beer in the restored vaults of the 1573 Ducal Mill. The beer garden is open in the summer months. Ayingers Inn is a lively tavern serving traditional local dishes, such as Weißwurst (white sausage), roast pork and fish caught in regional lakes. Six Ayinger draught beers are also on offer, as well as wireless Internet and outside seating in summer. Die Platzl Bar is a small wood panelled bar, with blue leather bar stools and banquettes, which serves draught beer and cocktails. The Moorish Kiosk is a sumptuous recreation area divided into three sections; a fitness room with treadmills and bicycles; a wet area with a sauna, steam bath and showers; and a rest area with a heat bench, light therapy and a solarium. Décor is in Moroccan style, with decorative tiles, rich fabrics and ornate frescoes. The hotel can accommodate conferences and seminars in its seven conference rooms, the largest of which can hold up to 140 people. The hotel is approximately 33 kilometres from Munich Airport.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
S-bahn surburban trains run from the central area (Zentralbereich) between terminal C and D. Take the S8 in the direction of Ostbahnhof or the S1 in the direction of Hauptbahnhof and alight at Marienplatz station, which is 200 metres from the hotel. Trains depart every ten minutes, with a journey time of approximately 40 minutes. Tickets must be purchased from ticket machines before entering the platform. Munich has an efficient public transport system including buses, trams, and underground and suburban trains. From Munich Airport, follow signs for München and at Kreuz München Nord take the A9 towards München. At the end of the motorway follow signs for Mittlerer Ring West and get in the right lane to turn left onto Leopoldstrasse. Continue ahead until Altstadtring and turn left onto Von-der- Tann-Strasse. Follow the sign for Altstadtring until Isartorplatz and turn right onto Tal. At the end of this street, turn right onto Sparkassenstrasse; the hotel is located 150 metres ahead on the right hand side.
